National Hispanic Heritage Month

National Hispanic Heritage month is celebrated September 15 - October 15. During this time we celebrate and acknowledge the histories, contributions, accomplishments and cultures that the Hispanic community has shared with the U.S.

There are generations of lively music, dance, art and food that have spread across the US and are now celebrated by people of all cultures. At MOBLZ, we work with some amazingly talented food trucks whose chefs and owners share their delicious authentic and fusion cuisines with the world. Here are just a few of the Hispanic-owned trucks in Central NC:

Mr. Puebla Tacos
Owned by Carlos Pacheco
Mr. Puebla Tacos serves a variety of Mexican foods using authentic, freshly-made ingredients, including a homemade salsa much-loved by customers. You can get something traditional, like tacos or burritos stuffed with black beans, cilantro, Oaxaca cheese, and many other delicious fillings.
El Rey Del Taco
Owned by Jorge González-Peña
El Rey del Taco literally means "Taco King" in Spanish. They have been serving authentic Mexican street tacos since 2008. Their mainstay is sizzling, seasoned meats on freshly made (as in made-on-the-truck) corn tortillas, topped with freshly chopped cilantro and onion, with a side of sliced radishes, limes, and grilled onions.
The Latin Effect
Owned by Bert Chedrani
The Latin Effect prides itself on offering authentic, flavorful and fresh Latin American cuisine in a fast-paced environment. Their dishes emphasize unique flavors and ingredients that are often masked in Americanized dishes of the same name. At The Latin Effect you’ll find a variety of delicious tacos, taquitos, enchiladas and more.
Poblanos Tacos & More
Owned by Oscar Flores
Poblanos Tacos and More is a family owned and operated Food Truck from Knightdale, NC. They serve the Research Triangle and surrounding areas for lunch and dinner and specialize in Mexican and Latin Cuisines. They’re known for their quesadillas and birria tacos, which typically sell out fast so grab them when they’re on the menu. They also operate a sweet truck called Sweet Escape.
Arepa Culture NC
Owned by Husband-and-wife Pedro Rodriguez and Hannia Jara
Arepa Culture is a Venezuela restaurant that specializes in 100% Gluten-Free Venezuelan-Style Arepas, which are stuffed cornmeal cakes that are crispy outside and fluffy inside. In addition to the food truck, you can also frequent their dine-in restaurant located at 6274 Glenwood Ave Raleigh, NC 27612.

We invite you to join us in supporting these food trucks and other hispanic-owned businesses; not just this month, but every month.
