🚚 From the Truck 🎉
Patrick D. Young is the proud owner of Funoh Brands Inc, dba FUNOHCAKES. He was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. It was at the age of 10 when he had his first funnel cake at Carowinds Amusement Park. At that moment he fell in LOVE with the pastry and decided to try his own mixture at home. After many attempts of trying different recipes and A LOT of flour, he finally got it right and start frying funnel cakes for neighborhood friends.
Ironically, at the age of 16, he got his first job working at Carowinds Amusement Park. One year later, he became the food and beverage manager for both funnel cake locations in the park. He absolutely loved his job. He then attended North Carolina Central University when earned two BA degrees in Accounting and Business Management.
Since the age of 10, he dreamed of starting his own Funnel Cake Company and after years of research and testing different batters with friends and family, the dream became a reality. FUNOHCAKES has participated in many fairs, festivals, and events in North and South Carolina. FUNOHCAKES is the premier funnel cake company of the Charlotte Motor Speedway and partnered with Carowinds Amusement Park concession team providing funnel cakes for all music festival. Among many, Patrick's favorite event is the Refuse to Lose and Stay in School annual event at the The Salvation Army Center of Hope. This is the event Patrick started in 2013 to give Kids living at the local homeless shelter hope and motivation to stay in school.
