Amenities For Working From Home

Amenities For Working From Home

As a majority of our country is now practicing social distancing, many of us are finding we’re spending much more time in our homes. Being away from everyone at work can seem to make life boring. Or worse yet, it can be a little annoying being with your family for the whole day. There are only so many things you can scroll by on social media, only so many YouTube videos you can watch, Netflix has just a few good shows, and your eyes need a break from reading. What should we do if this pandemic keeps on going for even a few more weeks?
This week we are switching gears to discuss your work from home amenities that should be upgraded or implemented to allow for proper social distancing as well as avoidance of losing your sanity. Depending on if you own or rent your own house or apartment some of these ideas may not be viable. Hopefully, we have a few different options though to cover all avenues. Some of these ideas can be temporary also just to simplify your home quarantine.

•    Addition 1: Allocate time each day to your own DIY spa or bath. Giving yourself the option to take a nice bath during all this chaos is the best way to relax. Taking all of life's stress away and rewarding yourself with your own little well deserved get away is necessary. Leave your phone in another room. If you have kids, occupy them with a game they could play on their own or with a favorite movie of theirs. Taking 30 minutes to relax and decompress will give you added positive energy you need.

•    Addition 2: Outdoor Time. Before allergy season gets too much worse, take advantage of your backyard, front yard, balcony, patio, or any outdoor space. Set up a lounge chair, towel, or just lay in the grass and pretend you're a kid again. If there are clouds in the sky just watch them. Clear your mind and take in the wonders. If you are able to take a hike on the weekends we highly recommend it! Being outdoors can clear your mind and allow you to get some exercise. Just remember to try and avoid popular parks and trails to help with social distancing.

•    Addition 3: Office/Work Area. With so many of us working from home now, we need to try and separate our work life from our personal life. Working from home can be tough! There are many distractions and with so much craziness going on in the world, it’s hard to stay focused. If you have an office at home you’re pretty much all set. Close the door to help minimize the distractions from your comfortable home.If you don’t have an office, find a location in your home where you can set up your computer to chip away at your workload. Preferably, you should sit at a table that isn’t in a busy part of your house. We all know trying to work on a couch just leads to procrastinating and watching T.V. or napping.

We hope that everyone continues to stay healthy during this time and we hope that soon enough we will be able to get out to enjoy our food truck rodeos again!
